Are you looking for a natural hardwood floor finish for your site-finished hardwood floors? We have the perfect product for you. It's called Rubio Monocoat and it's the best oil for wood floors we've come across.

Would you like to learn more?

What Makes Rubio Monocoat the Best Oil for Wood Floors?

Perhaps what makes Rubio Monocoat stand out the most is that it is free of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC). That means that the hardwood finishing process that takes place inside your home isn't so unpleasantly smelly that it sends you out of your home for a few days.

The reason is at the heart of what makes this product unlike others. This wood floor finish is made from natural plant oils, making it an ideal environmentally friendly solution for your floors.

You might think that such an environmental, plant-based oil would only offer only one or two stain options. In reality, you'll find more than 30 finish colors to choose from.

Finally, Rubio Monocoat embodies the latest and best wood floor finish technology: it requires only one coat, and future care and maintenance is simple.

Natural Ingredients and 0% VOC

Rubio Monocoat oil doesn't contain any water or solvents and is based on natural ingredients. This means that the product is very safe to use, but equally safe for your environment.

These all-natural oil wood floor finishes are plant-based, VOC-free and completely non-toxic oil finishes of extraordinary durability.

Unique Wood Floor Finish Colors

The unique Rubio Monocoat oil pigment technology allows an intense and deep coloring in one single layer, without compromising the natural look and feel of the wood.

Available in clear finish and more than 30 color finishes, all apply evenly in a single coating. All Monocoat finishes are easily maintained, and provide a subtle luster that reveals and complements, rather than covers, the natural grain and patina of the wood.

For perspective on the many finish colors, check out this display board you'll find at Floor Decor Design Center. These can be applied to any unfinished hardwood wood floors.

By the way, you can also create wood patterns with these natural oil wood floor finishes as you can see in this article titled The Hardwax Oil Experiment - Part 2 Rubio Monocoat.

A Revolutionary Wood Floor Finish Technology

Rubio Monocoat isn't just a run-of-the-mill oil finish for hardwood site-finished floors. Rather, it's the product of revolutionary technology.

Rubio Monocoat natural oil adheres with the first microns of wood by molecular bonding. As a result, it can cover an average 400 sq. ft. of floor per liter.

And because of molecular bonding, no surface film can form, and no variable saturation can occur. Not only is a second coat not required, the finished wood will not accept a second coat. The same action protects against overlaps and color variance and causes the process to complete in one coat.

One single natural oil wood floor finish layer

Thanks to the Rubio Monocoat technology, you'll need less product than you would with traditional oil-based wood floor finishes. As we mentioned, once the oil bonds with the wood floor fibers at the molecular level, it can't be further absorbed. The wood just can't absorb any surplus product – which makes a second layer superfluous.

The result is durable color and protection in one single layer, as well as no oil overlaps or starting marks.

This 2:13 minute video provides you with a brief overview of Rubio Monocoat.

Durable wood floor protection

There's another important aspect to Rubio Monocoat's technology.

That molecular bonding creates a durable, long lasting level of protection that is stronger than the wood itself.

Rubio Monocoat makes maintenance and repair easy

Surfaces treated with Rubio Monocoat oil are easy to maintain, and isolated scratches or damaged areas are very easy to repair.

You see, Rubio Monocoat Natural Oil finish bonding technology allows local touch up of damaged areas or scratches, because only the free wood fibers will take the touch-up coating. The finished margins next to the scratched or damaged area will not accept new Rubio Monocoat.

After 10 minutes, just wipe away superfluous oil. There is no overlapping or additional density buildup at the margins.
